The prime minister reiterated that punishments must depend on the results of investigations.

i'm sorry but i think he has missed the point altogether. there were no broad reforms involved which directly or indirectly resulted in mas selamat's escape. it was sheer complacency and if punishment is met out for complacency in all other areas of singapore, i don't see why should anyone be above it. no one's baying for blood here but what happened to accountability and all that schmuck?
