our day will come.

greetings friends, june's around the corner now and we all know what happens then right? that's right, my birthday (so is stef's, i haven't forgotten you dear). presents usually come with birthdays and yearly i put up a wishlist but since my friends love a challenge, they're never contented with just buying me something off the wishlist.

this year, can i only have things on my wishlist? at the risk of sounding like a complete ingrate, i must say no to all other presents. there is a very simple reason for that: i am a sentimental hoarder. if my mother didn't clear my table out once, i would still have the candles i bought from the prefects during valentine's day '02. i've kept presents from every one of you and i am running out of room to store the presents. also, while these presents are absolutely lovely, i can't really find an occasion to use them.

if you really feel the need to get me a present, buy something from oxfam. or maybe buy me CO2 permits. it may amount to absolutely nothing in the long run, but as keynes said, "in the long run, we are all dead." so who cares about the long run, let me be don quixote on my birthday charging at my windmills.
