our day will come.

after sleeping for a maximum of 2 hours last night on the table outside my usual lt, i can safely declare myself a zombie. my knees and ankles feel like shit from the amazing race, the muscles in my calves suddenly tightened so now i have painful and huge looking calves. there is the most promising bruise swelling up on the left side of my left knee because i smashed it into something. it is friends with the bruise on the right side of my left knee; i got this because some guy smashed into me during a game which involved much groping of butts.

i thought this would just be a regular post after the camp but i think the most disturbing thing has happened to me today. while i was slapping on sunblock in the toilet, 2 guys were found to be struggling in the waters of sentosa (or so i heard). when i finally came out, i saw this crowd gathered around a spot and all of them were staring at that area on the beach.

there was the yellow kayak and with a bunch of lifeguards, so i thought at most a person cramped and they were dragging him out then. after which, i heard someone say that they had been looking for this one person for at least 5 minutes. when they finally got him out, whatever i could see of his body was limp and white. thankfully his face was blocked by the people around him because people actually saw blood gushing out of his nose as the lifeguards tried to resuscitate him.

the sound of the pump pumping air into his lungs went on and on for more than 15 minutes, it continued even after the ambulance finally came. i saw white patches attached to his chest so i assumed they tried defibrillation but it didn't work. it was the most distressing thing i have ever heard; the whoosh of air as they tried to get oxygen into his body. what they were doing was essentially stave off the dying of the muscles and tissues fruitlessly.

he was just a kid, probably around our age or slightly older. we were planning games to welcome in fresh blood to our school while they didn't know that was to be his last. his friends didn't cry until the paramedics/police started asking them questions. they were probably too shocked to even process what was happening. it was probably lucky that all the ogls got so little sleep last night, if fatigue hadn't slowed down my brains this thoroughly i probably would have ran out from sentosa instead of continuing with our dry run. i knew i should have ponned the damned thing to go home and sleep. fuck.
