i really should have updated sooner but i was busy blitzing through another series and i was feeling lazy. bali was fun but it would have been loads more fun if i didn't have 3 open wounds to care for. i also got my period and cramps on the second day which kind of threw a monkey wrench into all my water plans. so instead of surfing, swimming and splashing around in the water i was stuck on the beach trying to read a book.
but i got to talk to lots of people during the time which i was stranded on land. i talked to a surf shop owner who moved to bali 8 years ago, he appears convinced that singaporeans punctuate their every sentence with "la", i didn't get to tell him there was "meh", "leh" and "hor". then when i was lounging around the lovely infinity pool at the mercure hotel, i got to talk to this guy from belgium and his female chinese friend who worked in tokyo, and i think they're having an affair. anyway, the belgium guy asked me if it was true that the government tried to get smart people to marry other smart people so i told him all about sdu and the awful games we have to play at orientation camps in order for sponsorship. hopefully, this won't end up in some article in the new york times or something, they already know what lengths the government is going to to get babies.
ah i miss bali, i miss the amazingly cute french kids. of course not all of them were cute, we encountered the strangest french boy at the hotel swimming pool. he only spoke french so we couldn't tell him to stop canonballing where we were. buh i want to go on a never ending holiday.
