i just blew one month's living expenses treating my family to two dinners over the past two weeks and i thought i should put it down in writing so i can laugh at this when i am earning shit loads in the future.
brought the family to tomi sushi today after reading about it in the papers last week and i made a reservation just in case other like-minded singaporeans decide to descend upon this new restaurant. thankfully i made the reservation because the service staff were overwhelmed by the number of customers. service was still decent though but that is not the point.
THE FOOD! my set menu was worth all 54 bucks because of the variety and the quality of the food. the rice was lovely and the fish were fresh, not wild about this one piece of sushi though. i had no idea what i was biting into. the tempura was a tad oily though, but the yuzu in the chawanmushi was an interesting touch. the otoro! the chutoro! the uni that my mother had a craving for which burned a bigger hole in my pocket!
i need to find a way to earn more money now.
