our day will come.

one round of deep heat down, several more to go before i will be able to walk normally without wincing. the run was awesome, i loved the organiser until about the 11th km. the first 8km went by pretty quickly because i was busy gawking at shrek and co in universal studio, even the uphill climbs were okay until the sun came out. there was just one tiny flaw in the sentosa bit though, who came up with the bright idea of running in that underground bus depot/carpark?! it's already hot and humid inside on a normal day, when you have a few thousand runners trundling inside it becomes a furnace.

running on flyovers/expressways killed my nike run, and they kind of killed this one too. i finally caved after the super long uphill climb on the ecp at 15km, unfortunately my legs were on auto-pilot so i was left wobbling downhill as they slowly realised that they were meant to walk and not run. i wish that i hadn't started walking, or i could have completed the run in less than 3 hours. oh well, 3 hours and 5 minutes ain't that bad.

the last 2km were torturous, those buggers had us run past esplanade where there were all the gorgeous christmas lights and i happily thought that the finishing line had to be there, so i think i cursed pretty loudly when i saw that i had more than 1km to go. after running 20km, 1km starts to feel like a really long way to go, thank goodness for superman and pikachu who ran with me.

legs aren't hurting as much as i thought they would, must be the 2km that i had to walk to get my fricking bag back but i really shouldn't say such things. i love how people blow their trumpet on fb, 10k and you're tired?! try 21km suckerz!

nostalgic sunday! the song i heard as i ran and chomped down my first gel.
