how incredibly exciting! my mother just told me that an alligator was found in my cousin's house. but, despite the piece of news being very interesting, i remembered that alligators weren't native to penang because i read about them in an encyclopedia once.
me: alligator?! penang got alligator meh? are you sure it's not something else?
mum: then what do you call those things with 4 feet?
me: er monitor lizard? gila monster? eh gila monsters are not found in penang either.
we eventually settled on reptile big scary thing. it's the most accurate term we could find for the creature.
anyway, i have no idea how the thing found its way into my cousin's place. they live in a populated neighbourhood so there is no reason why no one saw a hulking creature make its way into my cousin's house. according to the mother, my cousin's grandfather, who is a 70-80 year old man, singlehandedly chased the beast into the toilet and locked it in there. when the police finally came to fetch the creature, it took a couple of men to haul it out. the toilet's pipes and furnishing were bitten to bits by the creature so i don't think we'll able to stay at that place when we go over next year.
so exciting right! the only creature that has entered my house was a stupid cat that dirtied our sofas. and the snake which my mum found near me when i was a baby. both times i had been sleeping so i was unaware of such happenings, damn.
ugh the cousin's wedding draws closer! how?! i need to get something presentable for the occasion. my aunt has decreed that my mother get a gown, much to the annoyance of my mother. why do people not have their weddings at void decks anymore?! it's a fine old tradition, much cheaper that way too.
